Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone join?

Yes :)

Can I join at any time?

Yes - sort of.

There is a large group of people doing it from August 2023 to April 2024, who’ll be doing it relatively in sync. The advantage of doing it with the August to April group is the support and motivation that comes with being part of a large creative community.

But everyone’s different and life is messy, and maybe you didn’t hear about this whole thing til it was 5 weeks in. Don’t worry! The community is still there on Discord. All you miss out on is the “in sync” part.

A way to recreate that would be to create a group yourself (or even just find one extra person). You could do this with friends, or find some people in the Discord.

Does this only work for art or music or…?

The program has been written so it works with any creative craft. If you make something, the Alphabet Superset will apply.

What happens if I miss a week?

There are a few free weeks that have been built in to the schedule - one of the reasons is so no one gets left behind. This week can be used for catching up, resting, or getting ahead.

Can I go at my own pace? Or do I have to stick to the schedule?

You can absolutely go at your own pace. As above, a different schedule makes the community part less accessible.

I want to be part of the August to April group. Can I join halfway?

Sure - if it doesn’t bother you.

If you’re feeling ambitious, you’re more than welcome to start at A, work super fast, and catch up. If you just want to start at the letter we’re on and you’re fine to skip the first letters, by all means join!

I’m not an artist. Can I make this work for something that isn’t typically creative? e.g. engineering, sports, psychology

It’ll probably require a bit of tweaking, but it’s definitely doable. I’ve seen a few people who are making it work for non-creative passions. One person is studying history and is using the Alphabet Superset as a research guide.

Where should I post my work?

Anywhere you like. I’m personally posting mine on YouTube and Instagram. If you like to keep things less public, there’s the Discord, or you could post them to an online portfolio.

You don’t have to post on social media, though I would recommend publishing it to some degree because of the accountability it creates, as well as the feedback and opportunities. You definitely don’t have to - and if you’re doing this with your kids, there’s zero pressure to put any of it on the internet.

I don’t know what to pick for my medium/style/letters. What should I do?

There’s a few things you can do here. One is to get on Discord - there’s a dedicated chat where people will help you. Another is to make a shortlist of options and flip a coin. If you’re getting stuck on putting words to things (e.g.: defining a style constraint), just skip it and start creating. Your answers might be easier to execute than define, and that’s absolutely fine.

Can I use this structure to contribute to one big project? Not 26 smaller projects?

Like with the non-art augmentation, you’d likely need to change a few things around, but if you can make it work then go for it. I’ve seen one writer who plans on using 26 pieces in a larger book.

I don’t understand something on the worksheet. What do I do?

Ask for help in the Discord. There’s a dedicated help chat and a lot of lovely people there who can help you with specifics.

How do I get my work featured?

Use the hashtag #alphabetsuperset and tag @struthless69 - and for good measure chuck it in the Discord too.

Where will featured work be posted?

Instagram: @struthless69

YouTube: Struthless

Discord: Struthless Studios

Can I translate this into my language?

Yes please! And if you’re okay to, we’d love to have it as an option on the website.

If you’re good with Photoshop, get in touch and we can send you the PSD to edit directly.

Can I make videos/content about the Alphabet Superset?

Absolutely! The more the merrier!
